Clinical Trial

A double-blind placebo-controlled clinical trial with Relora® was completed in January 2004. Adriene, I have pretty serious carpal tunnel in both wrists. I'm finding it difficult to do poses as simple as "table top" or cat/cow, much less push ups. I do ok on "downward dog" because the pressure is not directly on my wrists. Is there a change I can make? (i.e. using fists instead of open palms on the mat) What about yoga for your wrists?? Is that a such thing?

Summer, I got your back! Just shot a yoga for carpel tunnel last week and you should see it soon as apart of the Silent Series :-) Practice on fists is good- also turning your fingers out just a bit is worth the experiment as well. I also always recommend you really pay attention to your center in those poses taking the integrity to your core and off those wrists joints even more. ps- practice on the elbows is sometimes a good modification too. but be sure to keep your alignment! keep the bones stacked. wrists in line with the elbows, elbows under shoulders and always- palms pressing into the ground fully! :-) xo.

This was my first time doing yoga, and though it was difficult and I was breaking a sweat you made it enjoyable:) I am really not flexible, but I feel relaxed and more flexible after going through the exercises. The only thing that bothers me a bit is my neck. Do you have any suggestions on how to keep it more relaxed?
Part 2 of 2 ~ For me it really does help to imaging a piece of fruit or a ball (or whatever) in btw my neck and chest. ind length! Long spine supporting your center. Yes, remember that we do not have to lift the head very high to get that connect in the belly or center. Its hard to break that crunch habit but just a small hover will do & will keep the neck from straining or engaging unnecessary muscles. Also, check in with the neck by lengthening through the spine. Hi there! We have a few now! There are two longer ones- where one is longer than the other. This one has slightly more description as it was shot at the first of the year to encourage folks who wanted to try yoga as a resolution to stick with it on the mat. :) This was also our FIRST ever long video sequence. They both are designed to be returned to over and over- a routine where you can build strength and tone but also a sequence that you can find more ease throughout time and PRACTICE. Love.I like the sequence but I think the jokes were a little much. They really bothered me. I'm here to do yoga no be distracted by a lot of talking. hi sadie, im a beggine to yoga, and i attempted this video with some difficulty. im not very flexible as a result im finding someof the position extremely difficult to do. for example my arms cannot reach over my head from behind. if i am perisant would my flexibility improve or shall i look for an easier video to start with.
Just move towards the pose, and work where your body stops you. This is my body after 15 years of yoga. Yours will look different, but if you're working, and in alignment, it's perfectly fine to be doing less of the movement for now. You'll chip away at these poses, and get there soon! xoSadie.

We all have body fat, even the models...but to stay fit, you want to eat healthfully, and never below 1500 calories a day, and do about 30-60 minutes of vigorous exercise like this 3-4 times a week. Hey honey Sounds like you've been through a LOT. Yoga will definitely be your magic tool against gaining weight. One thing though 800-900 calories is severe, and your metabolism will actually slow down if you remain on it outside of the hospital. If you are active during the day [not in bed all day], you need at LEAST 1200 calories to keep your metabolism [fuel your brain and body functions] running. If you do 30-60 mins of strong yoga, add 2-300 calories onto that. You will NOT gain weight.
I am, though I speak very little. Grandfather from Modena and relatives in Sicily. And yes, you should do this stuff it makes you look and feel awesome. xoSadie.

You can, but you will burn about 50 calories that way, so if your goal is weight loss, do it for at least 30 mins, or do some of my other videos in addition. If you want to effect real change, you have to commit to asking more of your body than you do now. xoxoSadie.
You could get a Yoga for Beginner's DVD, Rodney Yee has some good strong ones out. Or you could just do this and when your body stops you within a pose, or trying to get into one, hold it, and work there at your edge until you can progress. Absolutely rest in Child's Pose or come to sit for one minute anytime you need to catch your breath. Hey You can just do as many as you want in 1/2 an hour, but I'd end with a stretch like Pigeon Pose [see the video for that] and make sure to rest on your back for 2-3 minutes afterwards to reset your body into the new alignment as you cool down. Have fun! Sadie.

Do your practice any time you can life is busy, and do it when you feel like it, so you'll be more likely to stick with it! I'm a night practicer, not a morning, but lots of people love the morning.
